Community Plate is very excited to be collaborating with Cynthia Cushing of UMaine's Center on Aging to establish a new Maine Coalition for Social Connection. The goal is to assemble a coalition of stakeholders: individuals, nonprofit and for-profit organizations, funders, and local and state government representatives, to work together to address the critical issues of loneliness, social isolation, social disconnection, and more generally promote social connectedness here in Maine.
We are holding our first listening session (over zoom) on February 10 from 6-7pm. Our guest speaker will be Stephen Cote from the Massachusetts Coalition to Build Community & End Loneliness, who will share with us what they are doing in Massachusetts, how they are organized, and the impact they are having.

Please feel free to share the registration link, or the attached PDF, with others in your organization, and anyone you know who is interested in social connection, or might be interested in playing a role in this initiative.
For those unable to attend, the session will be recorded, and made available afterwards. Even if you can't attend, we encourage you to register for the event, as it will help us gauge interest and make sure you get access to the recording after the session.
